THE CHALLENGE

Does your heart love enough to choose to live this radically, with a community of God’s consecrated, chosen spouses who have reached their golden years? Are you willing to assist His Consecrated Visitandines who have spent 40 to 60 years loving and serving our Lord Jesus Christ, faithfully? Are you open enough to receive the spiritual wisdom garnered throughout those years, which His chosen Spouses wish to share with you? Come and visit this Holy Sanctuary of His Sacred Heart in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, New York. Ask our Blessed Mother of the Visitation for the grace to accept this heritage and live it out in your lives. We are open to women 21-59,who are ready to receive this precious gift and live with JESUS in the Blessed Sacrament for the rest of their lives. AN INVITATION
We hold a treasure.. and we want to bequeath this treasure to you. The Visitation Order was chosen by Our Lord Jesus Christ to be the cradle and sanctuary of His SACRED HEART. Our founders, St Francis de Sales and St Jane de Chantal sensed this, and St Margaret Mary, a Visitandine from a generation later was to confirm it through her response to the revelations she received from Jesus. Our treasure is His Heart, burning with love, especially in the Eucharist. Our riches are the virtues that flow from His Heart into ours, especially His gentleness, humility and simplicity. W Sisters of the Visitation encase this treasure within our Monastery here in Brooklyn and with our lives of prayer, allow it to spill over our enclosure walls into this powerful City of New York, and beyond. We want to entrust our spiritual inheritance to you, young prayerful women of the 21st century who are generous enough to accept the radical challenge of living contemplative monastic life in New York City. Our Monastery is holy ground, hallowed by the prayers of 153 years of Visitandine Sisters praying in our Sacred Heart Chapel, or meditating within the monastic gardens. We are inviting you to come and see the beauty of a spiritual life deeply lived in committed, profound prayer, in community and in daily work.
