| The Visitation Monastery of Minneapolis was founded in the Fall of 1989. Years before, it was conceived in prayer and discernment as a desire to express the mystery of the Visitation in a new way – a commitment to be one with the poor.
We are present on the North Side to "Live Jesus" by being part of this multicultural community – to share prayer, hope and God's blessings. Our friends are drawn into a circle of faith that brings us all to a clearer vision of the face of God.
We recognize our need to protect and nurture the contemplative and communal quality of our life in order to witness more clearly to God's love through our ministry of presence. As we reach out to support and comfort others, we recognize our own need to be supported and encouraged.
We dream that the liberating spirit that is part of our charism will foster the "prophetic" in all of us.
We will show gentleness and offer peacefulness to the community, if only for a moment. |
